NYAGATARE WFC CONTINUES TO STRUGGLE WITHOUT A POINT AS RAYON SPORTS WFC CRUISES TO A 7–0 WIN
When the Rwanda Women’s Super League reached the return phase on matchday 13, Rayon Sports WFC hosted Nyagatare WFC in a match that felt like a true goal scoring festival, as Rayon Sports WFC secured a dominant 7–0 victory, a result that served as a tough lesson for Nyagatare WFC.
Rayon Sports WFC scored three goals in the first half, completely controlling the game from the opening minute to the final whistle. They went on to add four more goals in the second half, confirming their excellent form and showing no signs of slowing down.
Nyagatare WFC continues to struggle, having failed to collect a single point from the first leg (phase aller) to the current return phase. This worrying situation has raised concerns among their supporters, as the team has also conceded more goals than any other side. These circumstances raise serious questions about what is lacking within the team: Is it a leadership issue, training shortcomings, poor team chemistry, or has player morale completely collapsed?
Speaking after the match, Rayon Sports WFC head coach Rwaka Claude said:
"The match was very good. We really needed this win because those three points were extremely important to us. It means a lot to have strong support from our President. Having him close to the team is crucial because we truly need that support. When he understands the players’ wellbeing, it gives them incredible motivation. I can say it has been a major boost, especially since he doubled the performance bonuses compared to what we previously received. He frequently visits us during training sessions, which pushes the players to give even more."
He went on to speak about the Heroes Cup, saying:
"We only have one week to prepare for the Heroes Cup, but I believe we are well prepared. We won the previous edition of the Heroes Cup, and we are working day and night to defend our title because this trophy is very important to us."
He added:
"The President told us he will visit the team at least twice this week and assured us that, as usual, he will remain close to us. We also promised him that we will do everything possible, fight until the final minute, and win the trophy."
On the newly signed Cameroonian player, Rwaka Claude said:
"The Cameroonian player we added to the squad is a very good player. What remains is building chemistry with the rest of the team. She hasn’t been here for long, but day by day there is visible improvement. I believe that in the coming days, everything will fall into place."
In conclusion, he sent a message to the Rayon Sports WFC supporters:
"I ask our fans to stay close to us and continue supporting us as they always do. We are doing everything possible, giving our hearts and full commitment, to bring them joy and make them proud."
