RWANDA U17 WOMEN’S TEAM BEGINS TRAINING AHEAD OF CRUCIAL WORLD CUP QUALIFIER AGAINST ZAMBIA

‎The Rwanda U17 Women’s National Team, known as Amavubi Women U17, has entered the final phase of preparations to face Zambia in the qualifiers for the 2026 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup, having already held their first training session this Wednesday.

‎The session comes shortly after head coach Oscar Iragena announced a provisional squad that will take part in a training camp. The list features a mix of talented players, including forwards tasked with scoring goals, as well as midfielders and defenders expected to build a solid and balanced team performance.

‎A STRONG START TO PREPARATIONS

‎The first training session showed a team full of determination and ambition. Players displayed energy, teamwork, and commitment key elements that give hope for a strong performance in the upcoming matches.

‎The coaching staff emphasized their focus on improving players’ technical skills, physical fitness, and tactical organization in order to effectively  Zambia, one of Africa’s strongest teams in women’s football.

‎A MATCH OF GREAT IMPORTANCE

‎The upcoming fixtures between Rwanda and Zambia carry significant weight, as they will determine whether the Amavubi Women U17 can secure a spot in the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup.

‎This is a major opportunity for young players to showcase their talent on the international stage and elevate Rwanda’s name in global football. It is also a key moment in the continued development of women’s football in the country.

‎In their message, team officials stressed the importance of these matches, describing them as more than just games, but a true battle for national pride.
